I am a Ghanaian-born, Brooklyn-based artist and physician whose work explores texture, perspective, and the quiet beauty found in everyday life.
My relationship with art began during childhood in Ghana and continued after moving to Brooklyn, where I pursued art as my major in high school. Although creativity had always been a central part of my life, my path eventually shifted. I studied biology and went on to pursue a career in medicine, ultimately becoming a pediatric emergency medicine physician.
Years later, after completing my medical training and settling into my career as an attending physician, I found myself with the space to return to my first love: art.
My work reflects two interconnected ways of experiencing life.
Through my neutral, textural pieces, I embrace layers, irregularities, movement, and imperfection; reflecting the complexities and small details of everyday life. When viewed as a whole, these individual elements come together to create a sense of balance and calm, a reminder that beauty can emerge even from the imperfect.
As my work continues to evolve, new collections will explore different subjects and perspectives, while remaining grounded in my fascination with texture and emotion.
